Amethyst Sea Holly that features striking blue, thistle-like flowers with silvery bracts, and thick, leathery, dark green leaves with silver veining. It is a hardy, low-maintenance plant that grows well in full sun and well-drained soil, and is tolerant of drought, deer, and salt. It blooms throughout summer and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies, making it a popular choice for garden beds, borders, and pollinator gardens.

Surface sow as light aids germination. Cover them with clear plastic and place in a fridge for 2 months. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought to a cool room about 15°C, 59°F to germinate. Germination is generally 30-90 days after the warming period, though some can take longer, and will germinate irregularly over a long period of time. Do not discard, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait.
