Native to western Canada and USA, this sweet-scented blue lupine thrives on sandy or gravelly banks near water. Can be grown in a moist sunny area in your garden, and also can naturalize well in grassy areas or moist meadows.

Germination: Start these seeds right away to preserve viability, no matter the time of year. Lightly scratch the seeds between two layers of sand paper before planting. Do not bury the seeds as they require light for germination. Place the seeds on the surface of the soil and water in. Keep it continually moist. Once they are about 3-6" tall they can be planted outdoors in a sunny location. Water occasionally until established. Once established they are drought tolerant.
