Rarely offered from seeds! Bearded Iris or German Iris, is a stunning perennial that can grow up to 1 meter tall. Blooming from May to June, this plant features huge captivating flowers. It can grow in various types of soil, including sandy and loamy soil. This perennial also thrives in dry or moist soil and can grow in a full sun or shade.

Germination: Start these seeds right away to preserve viability, no matter the time of year. Sow the seeds just under the surface of a sterile seed-start mix, and water in. Leave them at room temperature for 30 days. They will not grow yet. Then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 60 days. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F) for them to germinate. Germination is in 14-60 days after the warming period.
