Lagerstroemia indica, also known as Crape Myrtle or Crepe Myrtle, is a stunning tree which produces beautiful white, pink, red, or lavender flowers that bloom from mid-June, for up to 120 days! Its bark exfoliates, making it an attractive feature in the landscape. Leaves are up to 2" long and offer a spectacular color display in autumn before shedding during winter. The plant prefers full. Drought tolerant. Lagerstroemia indica is a common municipal planting, park tree, and a beautiful addition to home gardens. The Royal Horticultural Society also awarded it the Award of Garden Merit in the United Kingdom.

Soak the seeds for 12-24 hours before planting. Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 30 days. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature 20-22C (68-72F) for them to germinate. Germination is generally 30-60 days after the warming period. Do not discard the planting tray, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait.
