The foxtail lily or giant desert candle, is an extremely tall plant with inflorescence (flowers) look similar to a long spike and consists of many white flowers, some showing a light pink, as many as 700 to 800 of them, blooming in June.
The leaves grow in tufts of thin, green, straplike strips. with a stem 6-10 ft (1.8-3.0 m) high, and leaves as long as 48 in (120 cm) and 4 in (10 cm) wide. The deciduous leaves can vary from a bright green to a bluish-green in color.
The plant prefer sandy, well-drained soil and full sun. In the UK this plant has gained the Royal Horticultural Society-s Award of Garden Merit.
These seeds are very rare and are in limited supply.

Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Leave them at room temperature for 5-6 weeks. This helps break the phytohormones which inhibit germination. They will not grow yet. Then a completely dark and cold period is required. Cover them to block light, and place in a fridge for 90 days. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15°C, 59°F) for them to germinate. Germination is generally 30-90 days after the warming period, though some can take longer.
