WATERMELON 'CONGO' Citrullus lanatus
An extremely popular watermelon, with one of the highest sugar contents of any watermelon! They are large watermelons about 27" long x 12" wide and weigh 40 lbs. The flesh is firm, medium-red, and very sweet. It is resistant to disease, and grows in 95 days. Open-pollinated.
Congo watermelons have unsurpassed taste, winning the prestigious AAS Award in 1950.

Seeds per pack: 5
Germination: Start indoors, seeds require 5-10 days at a soil temperature of 24 C (75 F) to germinate. Do not start outdoors in spring as with lower night temperatures, germination will be inhibited. Then plant outdoors once the chance of frost is past. Water during dry weather.
