Primula florindae, the Tibetan cowslip or giant cowslip, is a species of flowering perennial growing to 120 cm (47 in) tall by 90 cm (35 in) wide. The red and delicately scented flowers appear in clusters of 20–40, and are pendent and bell-like.

This plant grows best in very moist conditions as its home is the margins of rivers. It is cold-hardy.

It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Type: Hardy Perennial

Hardiness zones: 3-9

Height: 47", 120 cm

Location: Shade or part shade

Seeds per pack: 3

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.

Germination: Start indoors. These seeds require light to germinate. Sow the seeds on surface and water in. Do not bury the seeds. Leave them at room temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F) for 4 weeks. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15C, 59F) for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-90 days after the warming period, though some will take longer.
