This hardy perennial is native to North Eastern Europe to North Western Asia. Growing well in fields, it prefers drier, well-drained soils. It's a great pollinator plant for honey bees and butterflies, blooming from May to August. Clump forming growing habit with deep roots. Can be used as a cut-flower.
Type: Hardy perennial
Hardiness zone: 4-10
Height: 20", 50cm
Location: Sun
Seeds per packet: 15
Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Cover them with clear plastic and place in a fridge for 60 days. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought to 20-22°C (68-72°F) to germinate. Germination is generally 30-90 days after the warming period, though some can take longer, and will germinate irregularly over a long period of time. Do not discard the planting tray, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait.
