Absolutely stunning and massive flowers cover this 'tree' peony, which forms a large shrub that is quite hardy, even in cold climates! Flowers are absolutely HUGE! Plants form woody stems, rather than growing from the ground like regular perennial garden peonies. The seeds are large, and naturally variable in size.

Location: Part or morning/evening sun
Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for a full 3 months. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification they are then brought back to a cool room (12-15°C, 54-62°F) for them to germinate. They do not like warm temperatures at this stage, and until they have their second set of leaves. Germination is irregular over a long period of time, generally 1-4 months, but some can take longer. Do not discard the planting tray, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait.
Ornamental use only. May be poisonous.
