Canarina is a herbaceous perennial vines with bell-shaped flowers. The best known species is Canarina canariensis from the laurel forests of the Canary Islands which is grown as an ornamental plant.

In cool areas, this plant is best grown as a greenhouse plant, as a houseplant in a sunny area, or grown outdoors in summer and brought indoors for the winter. It is frost sensitive.

It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Germination: Soak the seeds for 24 hours before planting. Then sow the seeds just below the surface of a sterile seed-start mix, and keep at 64 to 77 degrees F (18-25°C). Keep the soil constantly moist during the germination period.
