Description

This is the first red-leaf form of the popular Genovese Basil! It has the same shape and flavour as the green form, and is slightly more ornamental. Genovese Basil is the most popular culinary basil that is loved for its large leaves and sweet, mildly spicy flavour! Sourced from Genoa area of Italy, the pesto capital of the world! This is a great culinary variety as it does not bolt as quickly as other basil. It also retains its flavour well as it ages. Perfect for pesto salads, and any dish calling for a large leaved basil.

Harvest in the morning when leaves contain the highest concentration of aromatic oils.

Basil will grow in full sun or a partially shady location where it will get 6-8 hours of sun per day.

Type: Annual herb

Seeds per pack: 25

Germination: Start indoors. Place the seeds just under the surface of the soil, and keep moist until germination. Plant outdoors once the danger of frost is passed.
