ROSEMARY Officinalis

One of the most valuable herbs. An easy to grow aromatic, evergreen shrub. Prefers well-drained soil in full sun. Can be used as a formal or informal hedge.

Germination: Sow onto a seed-start mix. Press seeds lightly into the soil but do not cover as light is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 18-24°C. Germination takes 7-14 days. Rosemary has naturally low germination rates, which can be below 50%, so sow more seeds than you might need. If germination does not occur then do a cold stratification by moving the container to 4°C for 4 weeks, then return to warmth. Plant outside once danger of frost has passed.
